      How do I qualify for an apprenticeship?

      APPRENTICESHIP ELIGIBILITY

      1. be aged 16+ at the time of enrolment.
      2. be a UK or European Economic Area (EEA), or have lived in the UK or EEA for the past three consecutive years.
      3. not already be in full-time education at the point of enrolment.

      Can I do an apprenticeship without going to college?

      So instead of going to college or sixth form three to five days per week, an apprentice spends most of their time in a real-life workplace. You’ll study for a qualification (often an NVQ) alongside work, and you’ll get help from a college or training provider.

      Those under a contract of apprenticeship can only be dismissed in the most serious of conduct cases. For those apprentices employed under an apprenticeship agreement, they can be dismissed in the same way as any other employee i.e. misconduct, capability/performance.
