How much does Air Cadets cost?
Cadets may be required to pay towards some activities, for example an annual camp might be £40 – a small amount considering what’s involved. Most squadrons also charge subscriptions of around approximately £10 per month to cover running costs, transport etc.
Do you have to pay to join the Air Cadets?
Funding. Each cadet provides a small subscription which goes towards funding the many activities that they undertake. National and international camps and expeditions may lead to extra costs – but we will always keep these to a minimum.
Are Air Cadets free?
The benefits of being a part of the Air Cadet Organisation are the same for volunteers as for cadets – the opportunity to do lots of exciting activities and develop personal skills and talents. As a volunteer this is free to you!

You can join when you’re between 13, or 12 if you’re already in year 8 at school, and usually leave when you’re 20. The latest age you can joing is before your 17th birthday.

Cadets are authorized a base pay of $1150.00 per month. This salary is subject to federal and state withholding taxes, social security deductions, and Servicemen’s Group Life Insurance.
How many years in the military until you can retire?

Active duty military members can retire after 20 years of active duty service. In exchange, they receive retirement pay for life.
Can you leave the army at any time?
If you went through all the motions of signing up for a military service only to decide it is not right for you and you have NOT been to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and have NOT taken an Oath of Enlistment, you are free to quit the process at any time.
