Can rice be stored forever?

White, wild, arborio, jasmine and basmati rice all have an indefinite shelf life, when kept free from contaminants. The exception: brown rice. Thanks to its higher oil content, it won’t keep nearly as long. For added protection, store rice in the refrigerator or freezer.

Is food still good after expiration date?

Federal regulations do not require that expiration dates be put on meat, poultry, eggs, dairy, cans and boxed foods (baby formula is the only product that requires an expiration date). It’s still okay to consume the product for a short period after the date, but don’t wait too long.
